Hiring: Lighting Designer for Pointeworks’ NYC Tour

Performances: March 21-22, 2025 (3 total performances)
Location: Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, NYC
Compensation: $800
About the Production:
Pointeworks is seeking a talented Lighting Designer for our upcoming NYC tour, a gala-style ballet program featuring 7 original works performed by 14 world-class dancers from renowned companies such as New York City Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Texas Ballet Theater.
This production is a celebration of the art of ballet, blending classical and contemporary styles with intricate choreography and live piano performances of original musical scores. As Lighting Designer, you’ll play a vital role in enhancing the visual and emotional impact of the program, bringing the dynamic choreography and musicality to life on stage.
Responsibilities:
Design and execute lighting that complements the program's artistic vision.
Collaborate with the production team, choreographers, and music director to ensure cohesive staging.
Oversee lighting setup, cueing, and operation for the rehearsal and performances.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Lighting Designer in dance or theater productions.
Strong understanding of lighting design for ballet, including classical and contemporary styles.
Ability to work efficiently under a tight schedule and adapt to the needs of a fast-paced production.
